Raghava
S. Mani:
An engineer by trade, Mani's
interest in the arts began more than fifty years ago in India. Over
the years, he has successfully experimented with various art forms including
painting, poetry, photography, and music. From illustrating children's
books to a creating mural for the World Fair, Mani has an immense breadth
of artistic experience.
Mani made Canada his home in 1974 and took early retirement in 1993
to pursue art full time. Since then he has received a number of distinctions
for his artistic work. Most notably, he was awarded the prize for designing
the Bernice Adams Memorial Award for the City of Cambridge, Ontario.
Each year, the City presents this award to talented individuals, for
their exemplary contributions in the fields of music, literature, visual
and performing arts. Aside from designing this prestigious award, Mani
was presented with his own Bernice Adams award for visual arts in 1998.
In addition, Mani has held a number of successful exhibitions at various
venues in southwestern Ontario.
Mani is happily settled in Cambridge with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
